The Administrator reserves the right to deny membership to any applicant if he deems such denial is properly founded. You are asked to complete the following and submit it to 1:3634/12. The application must be submitted as a netmail 'FILE ATTACH.' When sending this completed application, you must use your general system address as assigned by your Network Coordinator. The application file must be renamed to .APP. ANY applications received in a format other than netmail 'FILE ATTACH' will be ignored. Your acceptance or denial of access to this service should be available within 24 to 48 hours. It is up to you to poll back for this information. If your application is accepted, the passwords will be in place and operational when you poll. This means that you should already have your passwords installed before polling back for the pickup. This service agreement is a private agreement between you and Waldo's Place USA. Either party may terminate this agreement at any time by notifying the other party ASAP. All mail is placed on HOLD for you to call and pick up unless you are a local call from Waldo's Place USA. Mail will only be held for 30 days before being deleted or returned to sender. If any information you provide in this document changes, you are asked to ammend this document ASAP and NetMail it to 1:3634/12 for updating of the internal records. All information given in this record is held in utmost confidence and will not be released to other eyes for viewing. Both addresses must be passworded at the session level with the same pasword. These addresses are 1:3634/12 and 1:3634/1000. Failure to password both addresses with the same password may cause failed connects with Waldo's Place USA. SERVICE ACCESS The following groups are available for access to sites feeding from Waldo's Place USA. Some restrictions apply. ALL mail will be placed on HOLD for you to pickup unless you are a local call. The following is a list of services currently available. Services may be added or withdrawn from the list at any time. Access to any service may be denied at any time. FIDONET BACKBONE ECHOMAIL (must be a valid fidonet site) The entire fidonet backbone is available to vaild fidonet sites. This does not mean that you may blindly turn on all areas, though. With 163 areas currently passing thru Waldo's Place USA, there are an average of 125000 (!) messages processed each month. FIDONET ROUTED NETMAIL (must be a valid fidonet site) You and any of your downlinks may route any and all Fidonet Netmail via Waldo's Place USA. There are no exceptions at this time. FIDONET REGION 18 ECHOMAIL (must be a valid fidonet site and belong to Region 18) The entire set of Fidonet Region 18 echomail areas is available. Some areas have restricted access and may not be accessible. FIDONET NET3634 ECHOMAIL (must be a valid fidonet site and belong to net 3634) The entire set of Net3634 echomail areas is available. FILE DISTRIBUTION At this time a 'small' portion of the filebone, is being pulled by Waldo's Place USA. You may turn on some areas as needed but, as with the Fidonet Backbone Echomail, please be very selective. We will be expanding our local storage as the needs of our downlinks grow. As we expand, what you can pull will increase. This limitation is only one of local storage space. Please note that we cannot guarantee that all files distributed via the filebone will make it thru intact or even at all. Due to the very nature of the feed, it is possible that some files may not make it thru at all. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- V. INTERNET ACCESS Waldo's Place USA offers access to gated internet email. Please do not sign up for high traffic mailing lists without prior approval. Gated messages pass thru several servers and scans in an effort to ensure that they do not contain virus or spam. This process is not foolproof and it is possible that something may get thru. Waldo's Place USA can only make a good intention effort and we are limited by the capabilities of the scanning software and servers employed in our gating process. As with anything else, you should take all precautions that you can. Waldo's Place USA cannot be held liable for damages you may experience due to your own failed diligence. The gateway's fidonet address is 1:3634/1000. Netmail addressed to that address will be processed by the gating software and either passed on or bounced with an explanation. You may send a message to PING@FTN.WPUSA.DYNIP.COM to trigger a response to you containing the gated address for your system. Generally those addresses will be something similar to some.user@3634-12.ftn.wpusa.dynip.com unless you have made prior arrangements for an assigned subdomain name. If you desire an assigned subdomain name, simply send us a netmail message requesting such. The following is a guide to how to properly address email through this gateway. This first example is what you use if you can get the actual internet address into the normal To: field in the message header.
